Maintenance Manager training brings
long-term benefits to any size operation. |
ToolingDocs recently held its first Toolroom Maintenance Manager
Certification Training course with resounding success. Attendees
hailed from large and small companies alike, and included custom
molding operations and medical molders.
Steve Johnson, Operations Manager at ToolingDocs, led the class
assisted by Plant Manager Mike Burroughs and Global Assessment &
Training Manager Randy Winton.
“The interaction between the maintenance managers demonstrated once again that the difficulty in initiating mold maintenance improvements lies in the ability to create an action plan that spells out roles and responsibilities and won’t lose steam over time and just fade away,” said
Johnson. “Everyone agrees that there are thousands of dollars to be
saved by adopting a systematic approach, but they are not sure how
to begin and still deal with the day to day problems tool rooms
face. As one attendee put it, ‘we are just too busy fixing things to
improve’.
“Our Managers course lays out a clear path to determine how to
start, what metrics to measure and what departments and people to
involve to ‘once and for all’ shift away from the typical
firefighting culture, regardless of what type of product is being
molded,” he added.
Attendee Tom Batinich from Rexam said this about the program: “This
is the best management training I have received. Instead of using
theory, they use experience.”
