Download the draft Mold Warranty to consider whether or not it can be applicable in some ways within your organization.

With mold performance guarantees becoming more and more commonplace, and because ToolingDocs emphasizes the importance of using well-defined documentation, a resource for creating one’s own Mold Warranty document is now available at www.toolingdocs.com/Warranty.

“Until now there really has been no industry standard for defining which party is responsible for what aspect of the mold in the event there is an unforeseen problem,” explains Randy Winton, ToolingDocs Global Training Manager. “This document, once tailored to one’s specific needs, can be a critical tool for protecting both the mold builder and the mold buyer/molder because it answers those questions up front, like a contract.”

Click on the link above to access the Mold Warranty sample document and also an article titled “Guarantee Your Molds... Responsibly”, which recently appeared in MoldMaking Technology.

Attendees learn laser welding techniques utilizing the Unix III Workstation.

ToolingDocs recently welcomed Alliance Laser Sales, Inc. as its newest Tech Partner. Alliance is a leading dealer in laser welding machines and accessories in the U.S., and they have supplied ToolingDocs with a Unix III Workstation from Vision GmbH to use in advanced training curriculums for teaching laser welding techniques.

Doug Niggemann at Alliance said, “Being a technology partner with ToolingDocs offers
us a unique opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of laser technology to those who work in the industry. Laser welding can help mold shops and molding houses repair components that used to need replacing. There are many benefits including:

• Less material deposited

• Smaller heat affected zones

• No preheating necessary

• Can weld deep inside ribs, cavities & gates

• It’s effective on a wide variety or materials.

“Laser welding can be done relatively quickly with less rework than the typical welding methods, resulting in less downtime and higher productivity,” he added.
