ToolingDocs, a leading authority on mold maintenance and training, has once again expanded its Mold Maintenance Certification Training Curriculum to include two new, hands-on courses: Tooling Component Repair and Hot Runner Repair. In addition, the new 2011 training schedule has been released.
Tooling Component Repair
Every day, tool repair technicians run into situations in which they need to either direct the replacement of an expensive piece of tooling to get a mold up and running or—if they have the foundational knowledge and skills—they do it themselves. Many times components that could easily have been repaired are instead replaced, often at great expense.

To help companies realize potential savings on this front, ToolingDocs’ new Tooling Component Repair Certification Training will provide actual bench work instruction on:
-
Reworking of typical tooling component issues such as worn edges, dings, scuffs, and scratches
-
How to perform such rework techniques as Laser Welding, TIG Welding, Brazing, Stoning, Bluing and Fitting tooling, as well as Polishing tooling.
The first class will be held on March 29 & 30 at the ToolingDocs Maintenance Center.

Hot Runner Repair
Repairing and maintaining a typical hot runner system takes mold maintenance skills to the next level. Not every repair technician wants to tear into one, knowing that disaster could be just a wrench slip, pinched wire or forgotten bolt away. Adding to the challenge is processing techniques, which can have a huge effect on the performance and condition of a hot runner system.
Through TooingDocs’ new Hot Runner Repair course, technicians will learn solid hot runner maintenance principles that can be applied immediately.

|
Attendees will learn through hands-on bench time how to test, handle, repair, clean and maintain several types of hot runner manifolds. Additionally, they will learn common design and production issues along with useful bench techniques.
The first class will be held on August 23 & 24, 2011, at the ToolingDocs Maintenance Center.

2011 Certification Training Schedule
In addition to the new courses described above, ToolingDocs also announces its 2011 Certification Training Schedule for such proven courses as its Levels 1 & 2 Mold Maintenance Certification Training (including bi-lingual training in English and Spanish) and the Toolroom Maintenance Manager Certification Training. The schedule for all classes may be obtained by visiting
www.toolingdocs.com/training.
Richard Wade, Mold Engineer at Pharma Tech Industries, invested in
both Level 1 and 2 training programs in 2010 and had this to say
upon completing the curriculums: “Both programs are a real asset. If

you want your maintenance operations to
be as cost-effective as possible, this is something you want to be
doing. It’s not often that you find a program led by instructors
with that much valuable experience.”
Tom Batinich from Rexam said this about the Toolroom Maintenance Manager Cert program: “This is the best management training I have received. Instead of using theory, they use experience.”

Note that due to the hands-on nature of the ToolingDocs curriculum, each class size is limited to eight attendees in order to ensure the highest quality training.
