The first ToolingDocs conference of the 2005 year, 'Preventive Maintenance for Injection Molds', was held in the Minneapolis, MN area.

Through this one-and-a-half day conference, located at the Holiday Inn Select in Minneapolis, plant supervisors, tooling engineers and mold maintenance personnel were able to learn valuable techniques and practices being used in today's leading tooling facilities.

Conference Topics:

This year, ToolingDocs acquired veteran Mold Maintenance expert Randy Winton, who is formerly of Owens-IL and currently employed with Progressive Components as Research and Development Manager out of Minneapolis, MN, and Asia.

Winton presented on the topic of  Doing the Math, justifying  the costs of implementing an effective Preventive Maintenance program through some typical math calculations, and Getting Started (WI's, Recording Documentation), to review some examples of Work Instructions as well as manual recording documentation that will help you get started.
