About ToolingDocs

TD has established standard products for developing and maintaining mold maintenance facilities. Review these products here.

  • ToolingDocs Mold Repair Certification Programs

The ToolingDocs Mold Repair Certification program consists of standardized, multi-level training courses designed to provide attendees with effective, systemized mold maintenance skills, most of which may be put into practice immediately after completing the curriculum.

    • Level 1 Certification is a two-day course that features in-depth, hands-on bench work and classroom training. Attendees will learn the following valuable skills:

    - Eight Stages of Systemized Mold Maintenance

    - Mold disassembly practices and techniques

    - How to develop and implement an effective mold maintenance plan

    - Basic mold terminology, shop and bench setup considerations, mold tooling component inspection and more.

    • Level 2 Certification is a three-day program that introduces standardized, documented maintenance methodology including rigorous, hands-on training. Students will first create a maintenance plan for a defective, 32-cavity, 3-plate mold with tapered shut-offs.  Each mold will have predetermined defects that the students will be required to accurately troubleshoot using historical data analysis combined with their own physical bench skills.  Each student will then systematically work through all the 8 Stages of repair, determine appropriate corrective actions and be tested in applying the troubleshooting and bench techniques learned throughout the course.

Maintenance Capability Assessment – An MCA consists of a thorough examination of a company’s specific mold maintenance infrastructure. An accurate determination concerning shop capability to maintain proprietary and custom molds to a high degree of production readiness, reliability and performance is made, and the shop's degree of proficiency is rated compared to industry standard best practices.

On Site Training – Usually performed after an MCA, OST training involves systemizing the 8 different repair stages followed in conventional mold repair situations. OST training will demonstrate the correct sequence and what happens during these stages, what is needed in each stage and how they relate to one another when put into practice at the bench.

Total Systems Implementation – A TSI comprises one full year of ongoing training, audits and database development through onsite visits and Webex conferencing to ensure the maintenance improvement initiative remains ongoing and successful. The latest version of the MoldTrax Mold Maintenance System is included along with on-site installation and comprehensive training.
