I'm trying to find a system that will clean the gas from thermoset and thermoplastic mold inserts. We currently use EasyOff oven cleaner for the thermoset inserts. It works well, but must be done in a well-ventilated area. Any suggestions for our problem would be greatly appreciated.

A soda blaster, using environmentally safe baking soda inside a blast cabinet with a dust collector, would do a fine job of removing gas residue from inserts.

We are looking for a method of cleaning mold parts and plates during preventive maintenance. These parts may have grease, rust, or gassing on them. We need a method that is not labor intensive.

We have been working with a specialized form of baking soda from Arm & Hammer-called Armex Cleaning and Coating Removal System-as a blast abrasive to clean our molds for the past eight years. We've used Armex successfully, without damaging the mold or changing critical dimensions. This product can clean heavy resin buildup, degrease tooling components, and remove surface rust and paint from a variety of mold surfaces. It can also be used when molds are greasy and hot. It carries USDA and FDA approval ratings
