TPE Material
IMM 03/01

We mold a part made of TPE and every 6 hours we have to clean the mold. We use a hot runner mold with eight drops that go into small cold runners. The cold runners and the parts are well vented but there is always a black deposit that we have to clean. Is there any way this deposit can be avoided?

The black deposit that you see might be charred TPE rubber. This happens if the cold runner system is not balanced and / or there are any spots where material can get hung up. Also, if the nozzle tip is not insulated, material can freeze up (or drool) and eventually degrade. Please let me know if your problems have been solved, or if we can do something else for you. - M.
